Yoga is that holistic fitness technique which not only leads to physical fitness but also helps in achieving mental and emotional balance. Its postures, pranayams and meditation help in improving and maintaining physical, mental and emotional health.
Our Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi said “People often think that yoga is just a set of exercises. Yoga is a philosophy of discipline and meditation that transforms the spirit and makes the individual a better person in thought, action, knowledge and devotion.”
Bhartiya Society realised the importance of yoga and incorporated it as one of its chapters .It focuses on betterment and development of mental & physical health of human being and his overall performance, which would lead to a better society and transformed world.
Yoga has the power to transform human consciousness through control of body and senses through constant practice. Sri Aurobindo said “Indian Yoga is potentially one of these dynamic elements of the future life of humanity. it is now emerging from the secret schools and ascetic retreats in which it had taken refuge and is seeking its place in the future sum of living human powers and utilities.”
The benefits of yoga are manifold, when practised correctly and with discipline. It is important to learn and practice yoga postures under the supervision of a trained Art of Living Yoga teacher.
